Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology

Welcome to the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology Web site. Founded in 1983, ARRO represents radiation oncology residents in the United States. The objectives of ARRO are to formalize resident input into professional organizations affecting radiation oncology residents, to disseminate information and to foster communication among residents. The governing body of ARRO is an Executive Committee consisting of three junior and three senior radiation oncology residents. Membership is free and automatic to all residents and clinical fellows in accredited radiation oncology programs in the U.S.

This site is designed to provide students, residents and other members of the radiation oncology community with useful resources, information and important links.

Important Announcements

6/1/09	Now available: 2008-2009 Teacher of the Year Award winners! The ARRO Teacher of the Year Award was created to identify and recognize outstanding teachers and mentors of radiation oncology residents. Residents from all radiation oncology programs were given the opportunity to select one recipient from their program for the award. For the most recent academic year there were 51 institutions that chose a Teacher of the Year. Winners will receive a certificate and letter from the ARRO Executive Committee acknowledging their positive impact on the residents.	View the 2008-2009 TOTY Award Winners
5/22/09	Dear Residents, The ACR has requested the removal of the In-service exams from the Web site due to repackaging of questions and products. Please request the PDF file of the In-service exam from your program director. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
4/30/09	Call for abstracts deadline June 30 for translational advances symposium Abstract submission for the Translational Advances in Radiation Oncology and Cancer Imaging Symposium opens April 22. The two-day meeting will be held September 11-12, 2009, at the Sheraton St. Louis City Center Hotel and Suites in St. Louis. Registration will open in May 2009. 2/16/2009	The ARROgram page has been updated! We will now be regularly posting new ARROgrams to the Web site for review. Residents will continue to receive e-mail copies as well.	Access the ARROgrams.

Web site plan

With the help of ASTRO, we have completed the first phase in a complete redesign of the ARRO Web site. We have included timely and useful information for residents in radiation oncology. The second phase includes the addition of a list of key papers, example cases for boards review and a discussion board. Please let our Web site coordinators know if you have any suggestions or comments about the new site.
