ASTRO Abstract Deadline & ARRO Election Reminder 
 
Many residents have expressed concerns about the proximity of the annual ACR in-training examination and the ASTRO abstract submission deadline (which were originally both scheduled for mid-March 2005). In recent years, these dates have repeatedly fallen within 1-2 weeks of each other. The ARRO Board has received numerous requests to intervene and separate these dates so that residents might make the most of both opportunities.

ASTRO has kindly responded to these concerns by announcing that the ASTRO abstract deadline will be April 12, 2005 rather than in March as originally planned. Both the ASTRO and ARRO Boards hope that this will encourage more residents to submit abstracts to the annual meeting.

The ARRO Board, chosen by residents, is here to serve you. If you know of other such issues the ARRO Board can help to address, please do not hesitate to contact any Board member to communicate your concerns. ARRO Board member e-mail addresses are available at http://www.arro.org.

And don't forget to vote for the new Executive Board so that ARRO can continue to represent your interests appropriately! All U.S. residents are eligible to vote and the deadline January 28, 2005.
